Using Dryer Sheets for Layering

Figure 1: Things you'll need

You will need the following material:

  1. Used dryer sheet
  2. Food coloring
  3. Sandwich-sized 'baggie'
  4. Water (in a squirt-bottle or container)
  5. Paper tower or newspaper

Open your baggie and add several drops of food coloring. (You can mix colors if you'd like to experiment.)

Add a bit of water.

Add your dryer sheet.

Figure 5: Squish it up
Figure 6: ...Keep squishing!

Squish your dryer sheet around in the baggie. (If you want your color even, you will need to do this for quite a while.)

Figure 7: Check it

Take your dryer sheet out, and see if there are spots you missed. You may like the white spots, or you may want to put it back in your baggie and squish it some more.

When you like the look of your sheet, lay it on your paper towel or newspaper to dry.
