Unmounted Stamps?

Step #1
Figure 1: An untrimmed stamp
Figure 2: Leave a border
Figure 3: No trimming necessary

Using unmounted stamps is easy if you have the right tools. You will need some EZ Mount Cushion, an acrylic block of appropriate size, and a sharp pair of scissors. All of these things can be purchased in our online catalog from the link at the top of this page. Now, the first thing you'll want to do is prepare the unmounted stamp by trimming off any extra rubber. Leave 1/4" to 1/8" of rubber around the image. If you have a sheet of unmounteds, you can leave them together as a sheet.

Step #2
Figure 4: Peel it back
Figure 5: Stick it on

Peel back the paper of the EZ Mount Cushion to expose the adhesive, and put your unmouted stamp on the foam. (You will know if you have the wrong side of the foam, the stamp won't stick to it.) Then, put your stamp on the adhesive.

Step #3
Figure 6: Cut it out
Figure 7: Kai Scissors work well

Cut the stamp out. I like to cut my stamps off the large piece of foam, and then trim around the image. If my scissors get sticky, I clean them with WD-40 and a paper towel.

Step #4
Figure 8: Peel it off
Figure 9: Press it on (hard)
Figure 10: Finished!

Figure 11: Won't fall off
Figure 12: It's clear!
Figure 13: Stores easily

Peel off the protective paper from the back of your stamp. This will expose the cling side of the foam. Just press your stamp onto an acrylic block, and it clings tight! Because the acrylic blocks are transparent, you also have the added advantage that you can see exactly where you'll be stamping. You can ink, stamp, and clean your rubber stamp without it coming off your block. Then, when you are finished using it, you can peel it off and store it in a binder using the EZ Storage Sheets.
